Westfield State University has been affiliated with The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars (TWC) for over four decades, a partnership that provides exciting internship opportunities in Washington D.C.
TWC is a vital nonprofit organization serving hundreds of colleges and universities in the U.S. and other countries by providing selected students challenging opportunities to work and learn in Washington, D.C. for academic credit. The largest such program, TWC, has over 60,000 alumni, leaders in numerous professions and nations around the world.
During TWC’s Academic Internship Program (semester or summer), students will engage in three main program components:
All Westfield State University majors are eligible to apply to the Academic Internship Program. More than 500 undergraduates have taken advantage of this exciting opportunity. Scholarships and financial assistance are available for eligible program participants.
The Washington Center was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, both academically and professionally, and I absolutely recommend the program to future Owls! Not only was it a time of professional and academic growth, but I also had the unique opportunity to meet like-minded individuals from across the world.

Massachusetts applicants attending four-year public institutions in Massachusetts may be eligible for state-based financial assistance.
Award amounts for all terms in 2024-2025 (tentative)
Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and must be residents of Massachusetts. In the spring and fall semesters, $1,300 of this financial assistance is contingent upon the students staying in TWC housing and will be applied to the student's housing bill. Also, in the fall and spring semesters, eligible students' tuition and fees are waived on the home campus.
