Effective writing skills are essential for achieving professional success across all industries. The Writing Minor offers non-English majors a unique opportunity to enhance their credentials and improve their marketable skills by expanding their writing experience and compiling a diverse portfolio of completed work. Students pursuing this minor can select any six writing courses to fulfill the credit requirements and may also gain valuable experience through a writing internship. To earn a Writing Minor, students must complete a total of 18 credits, with at least 12 of those credits obtained from the English department. For transfer students, a minimum of 9 credits must be taken at Westfield, including 6 credits at the 0300 level. Through this program, students can cultivate their writing abilities and better prepare themselves for the professional world.
